We had our baby shower on the first Saturday of February. It was amazing and fun and exactly like how I imagined it would be. A few of my friends planned and arranged the shower – it all came out so beautifully. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Oh, before I do, I should note that these pictures were taken by one of our friends who did so voluntarily for fun and they turned out amazing.
Our friend, Jenn, went with an “adventure” theme/brunch. How great are the decorations?! She even had lemon and butterbeer flavored macarons out! She knew I liked citrus flavored desserts and butterbeer was a nod to Harry Potter. Our other friend, Jackie, prepared some of my favorite Filipino breakfast dishes. Yum! My sister-in-law made the “Ready to Pop!” gift bags filled with popcorn. Man, I am overwhelmed by everyone’s creativity and generosity.
Now for the guests. Everyone made me smile and made the baby feel loved. We revealed baby’s name at this baby shower (we had previously told our families over Christmas the baby’s name, but decided to save the fun for friends during the shower). I would reveal it on this blog as well but my mom still wants to throw a family baby shower and wants my relatives to guess the name then. So for now, the name is hush hush online 😉
We played some fun games, ate lots of food, and were able to talk a little bit to everyone. It kind of felt like a wedding where you are surrounded by all these people you love and love you in return while they celebrate this new season in life. I love community.
