Yup, still pregnant! Hopefully this will be the last pregnancy update…hehe. Bonus: this post is being published on Russell’s birthday! Let’s see if our son decides to come out on his dad’s birthday to say hello 🙂
Baby’s due date is fast approaching and he still isn’t here yet. You can say Russ and I are excited. Everyday, we wake up and wonder if this is the day he’ll make his appearance. It feels like this is the first lesson in parenthood – that you won’t be able to control your child. The baby will come when the baby comes. And that’s okay, but we’re so excited!
I figured it was time to blog about the nursery. As we await the arrival of our baby, here’s an update of what I’ve been up to: Project Nursery.
I’ve cleaned and organized, emptied and reorganized, vacuumed, re-vacuumed – over and over again. Seriously, the baby needs to get here already because there’s only so many ways you can organize baby socks. Anyways, the room we used as the nursery is (Was? Still is) the guest bedroom. Here’s the first time I blogged about the Guest Room and how we designed it when we first moved in: Virtual Home Tour: The Guest Room.
After doing all of that, about a year later we decided to make it into a baby room when we found out about our pregnancy. It wasn’t a big project to take on since Russ and I are always switching up our room decor. But it was a slow process since it took me awhile to collect the furniture for the nursery. So let’s start the blog. (more…)
I am still pregnant. Half of me is anxious to meet this kid already and the other half is anxious about labor and delivery. In other words, I am a ball of anxiety. But underneath it all, I can’t help but feel excited to see my family grow, to watch Russell become a dad, and to take care of a child. I am going to be a mother. Oy.
I’m combining my 36 and 37 week update in this post since this picture is from 36 weeks but I am writing this while I am at 37 weeks. I can’t believe that I have been pregnant for 9 months and that this baby will be coming ANY TIME.
Below is a summary of pregnancy this past couple of weeks. (more…)
We had our baby shower on the first Saturday of February. It was amazing and fun and exactly like how I imagined it would be. A few of my friends planned and arranged the shower – it all came out so beautifully. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Oh, before I do, I should note that these pictures were taken by one of our friends who did so voluntarily for fun and they turned out amazing.
Heartburn, not much appetite, still sore hips, peeing frequently
Milk, ice cream, cheese, all the dairy
I’m amazed by how often he hiccups.
And also, how much he dislikes it when my belly touches a hard surface (i.e. the bed, when I put down my cereal bowl on my tummy, when I press my hand down on my belly, etc.). He goes crazy and starts kicking when this happens.
Another also, he moves around a lot when Russell talks. It melts my heart.
Size of a head of lettuce! He’s big enough that when he moves around a lot, you see waves on my belly.
Other than my pregnancy symptoms, here’s what went on the past week: (more…)
