Hello! We love Christmas over here at the Henry Home so I decided to dedicate a post on our Christmas decor. Now, this post will mostly focus on our tree since I haven’t gone full-blown Christmas decorating. This is because of my pregnancy and how the thought of this baby being born in March just consumes our minds. For the first time ever, seasonal home decor have taken a back seat. Hello there! I have a fun one for you today. I’ve always wanted to get rid of most of the chemicals we use in our house (i.e. cleaning products, laundry detergent, etc.) and switch to alternative products, which most can easily be homemade. I’ve found some naturally made laundry detergent from a farmer’s market that we’re still using and I love it. However, what was cluttering up our space was all the cleaning products we had. I don’t even know how it got that bad. We had glass cleaner, fabric freshener, bathroom cleaner, surface cleaners, and more and sometimes double. I finally tackled this chore a couple days ago by making an [almost] All-Purpose Spray Cleaner.
What really spurred this on is the arrival of our baby next spring. Part of my nesting process means getting rid of all unnecessary clutter. This means anything and everything will be inspected. This past week, I tackled the spaces under the sink. (more…)
I love summer. I love how we get more sunlight in our living room when summer gets closer. And I like decorating my home to fit the season. I only did minor, little changes to our living room this summer but already it feels lighter and brighter. (more…)
It’s almost summer in the Henry home which means…sewing new pillows! Sewing pillow cases is one of the first projects I learned how to do when I got my sewing machine. And it’s still one of my favorite projects to do. Since I have lots of extra scrap fabric lying around, (more…)
