I have more things to blog about other than just baby things, and here’s proof. We got a new chair for the living room and a new table! And while we’re talking about new things, we’re also in the process of installing new floors! Remember my post about our floor water leak? Well because of that, we got a chance at picking new flooring and we also decided to install it ourselves. And by “we” I mean Russell is doing all the installing, ha. Thanks Russ!
I did it! I made it to the milestone known as the 30 week pregnancy mark. Cue the anxiety and the excitement!
I’ve been watching videos on YouTube for the past few weeks and listening to different women’s 30 week pregnancy updates. Everyone looks so cheerful and hopeful at 30 weeks. Then I watch their labor and delivery vlog/video and they look like they’re in a lot of pain. Then I watch their post labor video and newborn update, and they look tired…but one thing I always wait for when I watch these videos is when the mom holds her baby for the first time after delivery. So for our sanity, we’re buckling down and spending more time at home to get it ready for Baby Henry.
One of the projects I took on – and more importantly, finished – is a baby mobile! I honestly did not know how this was going to go. Also, I had already been gifted a musical, rotating mobile by my sis-in-law since she had an extra one. The fancy one is actually on the crib but the one I made is hanging in our room. I love it. I’m hoping baby Henry will like to stare up at it when I breast feed him in our room.
It’s almost summer in the Henry home which means…sewing new pillows! Sewing pillow cases is one of the first projects I learned how to do when I got my sewing machine. And it’s still one of my favorite projects to do. Since I have lots of extra scrap fabric lying around, (more…)
Remember the orange garland I made for my living room? It’s since been replaced with dried flowers, but I didn’t want to waste the dried oranges I had.
So instead, I cut off a strand and put one up in my kitchen, near my sink. With my white kitchen (that took forever to paint, ugh) and white walls, the oranges look amazing. So here’s a little snippet of my lonesome kitchen decor. (more…)
