When your husband’s grandma asks you to trim her rosemary tree and to take all the extra rosemary, you do it.
When Russ and I went on our Anniversary Road Trip, one of the stops we made was in Oroville where his grandparents live. His grandma has a magical green thumb, where she is able to throw seeds anywhere and they pop up healthy and happy. She also had a big rosemary bush that she asked Russell to trim. He trimmed it and we kept all the “scraps”. We left with two giant bags of rosemary which we lugged with us our entire trip. We’re not complaining since it kept our car smelling nice. (more…)
When Russ and I took a day off for our anniversary, we mostly walked around San Diego to visit random sites and eat lots of food. One of the stops we had was unplanned but I really wanted to look around – it was a street fair farmer’s market. I am a sucker of homegrown food and handmade items so we decided to look around.

Got Russ some natural deodorant because it scares me to know how many chemicals are in deodorant – and it goes directly into your skin and soaks into your pores in order to stop sweat. So instead, why not go natural?
This one is from a family who have a little farm in inland San Diego. I don’t think this is my (or Russell’s) favorite natural deodorant brand, because it actually seeps through your shirt and leaves a white mark. But I do like the man we met when buying this. He was very genuine about his products.
Remember the orange garland I made for my living room? It’s since been replaced with dried flowers, but I didn’t want to waste the dried oranges I had.
So instead, I cut off a strand and put one up in my kitchen, near my sink. With my white kitchen (that took forever to paint, ugh) and white walls, the oranges look amazing. So here’s a little snippet of my lonesome kitchen decor. (more…)
I’ve been making some reusable dinner napkins over at the Henry Home. I’m still working on increasing my stash of reusable napkins but it’s a process. However, I was able to get a bulk of sewing done in the last few days and I’m loving it. (more…)
